Torchwood: Jack's hand...

I deliberately picked an icon showing Jack's hand for this one.

Jack's Ten Best Uses of Hands
- In "End of Days", when Rhys is lying in the cell after Bilis' attack, and Gwen is hysterical, Jack, kneeling, turns his head away and crosses his forearms and his hands are fists. To my mind, that posture is incredibly sexy: strong and emotive and vulnerable and tragic. Brilliant.
- In "Ghost Machine", in the shooting range with Gwen, there's a moment where he touches her hair to get it out of the way. Gently.
- In "The Parting of the Ways", just before Jack kisses the Doctor, he touches his face.
- Healing Rose's hands with the introduction of the nanogenes in "The Empty Child".
- Kissing Rose's hands on top of the invisible Chula starship at Big Ben. When he's coming on to her, and she loves it.
- The scene where Ianto is working at the computer, and Jack puts his hand, just for a moment, on Ianto's back. Which episode is that?
- The way that Jack touches Gwen's hand in "Kiss, Kiss, Bang, Bang".
- In "End of Days", in the morgue, Jack washes Rhys's blood off Gwen's hands. Both sensuous and caring.
- In "Captain Jack Harkness", Jack and the Captain intertwine fingers.
- In "Day One", I love the way Jack holds and caresses the Doctor's hand after Carys has shattered its casing. And the concerned, even reverent, look on his face.
So. Am I forgetting other good hand moments?
Added later: Yes, I am forgetting a good hand moment, though it's a spoken line, not a visual moment. It;s that wonderful line in "Greeks Bearing Gifts" where Jack says, "Interesting because, firstly, the man had the biggest hands I've ever seen."
Added later still:

Date: 2008-01-21 08:37 pm (UTC)It's such a sweet moment. You could interpret it in a number of ways, all of them good. And caring.

Date: 2008-01-21 08:43 pm (UTC)I once heard that to know how a man really is, watch him tune a radio. If he yanks the dials to and fro, punching buttons madly, watch out. But if he delicately uses the tips of his fingers... mmmmm.
And Jack's (John's?) hands are supremely large, yet he wields them with such presence and dexterity... *sighs*.
I'm also fond of the lip-touching moment in KKBB. He does that a lot, actually - touching his lip while the gears are turning upstairs.
And the face-holding. The way his hands are placed when he dances with original!Jack. Gripping Ianto in Cyberwoman. Oh lard, now I'm going to have to go back and watch S1 just to see if I missed any good hand-shots.

There's nothing sexier and more intimate than watching a man doing mundane things with his hands.
I agree! And I like your radio comment.
Yes, I agree with all your additional hand moments, and look forward to your list.
Love your icon, too.

#6 is a favorite: Jack's deliberateness; Ianto's utter startlement.
Another favorite is in "Out of Time", Jack holding whatshisname's hand in the suicide car, being his companion and support on his final journey.

Date: 2008-01-25 07:42 pm (UTC)Mmm, yes, man hands. Thanks for reminding me of the scene in "Out of Time" when Jack holds John Ellis' hand as he's dying. So sad. Memorably so. Not really for John Ellis' sake, but for Jack's.
