Torchwood: Finally, an air date in the UK...

They've announced that Torchwood will be airing on Wed 16th Jan, BBC2 at 9 pm.

If I had one, I'd consult a crystal ball to see when and how I'll be able to see it....

Have you seen the BBC I player? They are showing all shows seven days after transmission online.

Alas, when I go to that site I get no video. I just get messages that you can't watch video there unless your isp is based in the UK.

In other words: nuts.

International restrictions are horribly unfair. We can't get the streamed stuff from the US or the UK. Well, except sometimes, if a Canadian network decides to be kind and offer streaming on their site. Which is rare, but not unheard-of.

[however, not having cable isn't a necessary condition of being a pirate, nor is being a pirate a necessary condition of not having cable. They're both more than sufficient though. It's starting a couple of weeks later on BBC America. Isn't there a BBC Canada? And if not, why not? It seems like an obvious thing.

There is a BBC Canada, but it doesn't show Torchwood. Torchwood is shown on the CBC, which was a co-producer of the show. But they seem to like to show it about a year after the BBC airing. Why? Strange CBC logic of some sort. I don't know why.

Grump.
