If you count genetics, I'm 50% English... since my Papa was born in Leicester.

You are 82% English.

You are either native and stupid, or you are foreign and knowledgeable.

"And did those feet
In ancient times,
Walk upon England's mountains green?
And was the holy Lamb of God
In England's pleasant pastures seen?"

Well, no, but it's a cracking good tune.

How English are you?

Actually, I probably should have done better. I lived in England for a whole year. As a student. Mind you, I spent most of my time in the 12th century, but that's no excuse to make misakes. I never did learn to say 'lift' instead of 'elevator'.

I got 92. I think I should get points for knowing why the tea question is highly fraught. ;)

Well, indeed! It's a serious matter.

I suspect I got that one wrong because to answer it correctly would have made my taste buds go "eww!"

That's life.

Now you have intrigued me. You don't like milk in tea? You don't like the milk to go first?

I've had milk in tea one time. It was an abomination [g].

I drink mine with just a bit of lemon in it. Hot or iced.

No sugar, either, thank you.

84%! :D For someone with absolutely no English ancestry (German, French, and Native, primarily), I think that's pretty decent. Of course, I also lived in England for a while year... (Spending my time in the 16th and 17th centuries...)

The Twelfth Century Renaissance is the one for me! But the other Renaissance isn't to be sneezed at either.

I like how whether or not you put the milk in first or second, the quiz counts it right. But the Beatles question was cheating, as saying that they were a band was counted as wrong, but saying that they were Scousers was right, when both facts are correct. *sulks*

90% here ... but my actual ancestry has England surrounded. Scots, Irish, Welsh, and northern French.

You are 98% English.

Congratulations! You may now take your place as a subject of Her Majesty.

No idea where I lost the 2%! But then I was born there, and have been back to visit many times.

Snap! I don't know where I lost the 2% either. I lived there for nearly 5 years, though (and read mainly English books when I was a kidlet).

I score the lowest!!! LOL I don't know of any English ancestry. German, Danish, Portugese, Native American, Jewish, Dutch, that is about what I know.

Note, last year they broadcasted the "are you realy Dutch quiz?"on television (in reaction to the demand that imigrants take courses in becoming integrated in Dutch society). anyway, don't know how much I scored, but was below 50% as well. I guess I am just not good at belonging.

If they ever had a programme about "how Canadian are you" I suspect I'd get a low score too.

The thing is, [livejournal.com profile] wijsgeer, we are really international in scope. No one nationality can contain us.

If there were a "how Torontonian are you" quiz, everybody would pass.

LOL.

I have it on good authority that Toronto is the centre of the world, the fulcrum, as it were, around which all reality revolves.

Oh thank goodness - I only got 71%. As someone who is actually Scottish (and from West Lothian, source of the famous question) it would be embarrassing to do any better!

LOL! I like to think of myself as being on Scottish ancestry, but I'm really genetically much more English. I wonder if it shows.

82%.

I just ain't that so-phisticated. I've only ever met, like, two people who talked or lived like that. Blegh.

(Whoops. I think my classism is showing.)

Well. At rock bottom, most of these quizzes are pretty silly. Which is why I don't think I'd score high as a Canadian. But you never know.

From: [identity profile] vervassal.livejournal.com
I guessed most of the answers, to tell the truth. It's just such silly questions (cream and jam? Drinks at the races?). I automatically dislike the whole "Cheerio, chaps, jolly good show" sort of culture. So.

*shrug*

But that's just me. :D I'm Californian anyways so it hardly matters. :p
