And how did Jonathan Rhys Meyers fall off my list? He was on one version of it, and should never have been removed.

He was utterly adorable in Bend It Like Beckham.

He was, wasn't he? I first saw him (and came to love him) in Velvet Goldmine, in which he had the additional advantage of being sexy with Ewan McGregor. So nice.

Watched any episodes of The Tudors? He looks NOTHING like Henry VIII (too skinny, not tall enough), but if you ignore that "minor" historical inaccuracy, he's great!!

I've seen the first three or four episodes, and I'm looking forward to the rest. I agree that JRM looks great as Henry!

My problem with him is that I first saw him when he was playing Elvis, and I can't get that image out of my brain long enough to even recognize what he really looks like.

Now, I haven't seen his version of Elvis, so I'm okay there. I hope to see it some day. I'm sure he was very Elvis-like, but you know? I can't even imagine that!

He was scary, he was so like. Which is another reason (besides the fact that the show comes on at the same time as House, M.D.) that I haven't been able to watch The Tudors, in spite of being a history buff.

I cannot wrap my brain around the same actor playing both Elvis and Henry VIII [g].

No? Well, he isn't really very Henry VIII-like, but he's fun to watch in the role.

No, he's fighting the Keith Michell image most people above a certain age have of the man.

I can't quite picture a non-obese Henry, either [g].

He's more fun to look at without the obesity. But he can't be terribly young, if he already knows Anne Boleyn.

Well, I meant the viewers' age, not Henry's [g].

The Keith Michell miniseries came out in the early 70s.

I remember the Keith Mitchell miniseries well. I loved it. Even watched it in reruns, I think.
