Am inclined to disagree. I think avoidance of emotional stresses and strains is quite youth-preserving. People generally think I'm 10 years younger than I am. I have never smoked, never taken illegal substances, drink only in moderation, have never had sex, and generally avoided complicated emotional entanglements (if other people are making you unhappy, it's time to break off contact with them).

So very true! I think love is health-giving and good; but love lost is the flip side of the coin, and the happiness of love is no guarantee of safety from the unhappiness of its loss.
Afterthought: the quote does not specify what kind of love, or what the love is for. It could be love of books, love of ideas, love of beauty, love of life. The point is to have a loving and positive attitude - which is both cause and effect of good health.
Knowing Jeanne, I think I know what she means! But if one broadens the definition as you do, I agree: one needs to have an enthusiasm for something. (Though I'm possibly a bit of an obsessive.)
