Yolande is visiting from Montreal. We went to breakfast at Von's - once again I ordered the smoked salmon omelette rather than the potato latke that [livejournal.com profile] maaseru urges me to get. It rained, with dramatic lightning. Rather a lovely morning.

We went to After Stonewall, and I bought a mystery novel. [livejournal.com profile] maaseru, to my joy and delight, got me the latest issue of Out magazine, the one with John Barrowman on the cover. And inside. It even has a picture article about vampires, just when we were saying that there were vampires everywhere. I am getting so tired of vampires!

I also went to the Silver Snail for comics, and to Bridgehead.

We went to Lee Valley, where I'd never been before. They have comfy chairs in their book section. I curled up and read about how to make Mission furniture. (Which was not what I thought it was, even though I'm not now sure how it would be defined.) It was fun browsing all their arts and crafts; and among all these books of garden landscaping, pyrography, woodcarving and making toys, they had one copy of the book 84 Charing Cross Road by Helene Hanff. Why on earth?

We went to CostCo and had a hot dog, and bought a turkey.

After supper, sat around talking to Yolande about books, the universe and everything.

Now, I'm wondering which Bridgehead. I was at the one on Bank and Albert this afternoon getting some update downloads done with some green tea and stuff as a refresher while I waited.

Close! I was in the Bridgehead at Bank and McLaren. Or is it Gilmour?

Because it's a good book?

Can't think of another reason...

Yeah, it's a good book. It just didn't seem part of the general theme. I mean, if I wanted to boy it, would I think of going to Lee Valley Tools?

Well, true. It would make a great impulse purchase, however [g].

I was really quite delighted delighted to see it there - 'my' kind of book among all those DIY projects.

Alien Sex Fiend!

You now have two copies, you know -- the one I'm sending you is in the mail!

Surfeit of riches. Heh.

Thank you! Two copies is good - it means I can put pictures intact on the bathroom wall, and still have a copy of the article for reading purposes.

Anyway, a person can't have too much of John Barrowman.
