Oh, what a wonderful birthday!

Sunny and warm, but not hideously hot. I took the day off so I didn't have to go to work. Have you any idea how easy it is to do one's morning exercises when you don't have to leave for work at 7:30 a.m.? It's amazing what a difference it makes.

Then I lounged and read a good part of Natural Born Charmer by Susan Elizabeth Phillips, loving it as I always love her books. Went to Milagro Grill for lunch with [livejournal.com profile] maaseru, and the food was utterly wonderful - I had 'caramelized onion soup', which was like nothing I'd ever tasted before, and I loved it; followed corn bread and a wonderful salad with peanuts and grilled chicken in it. Dinner was at Sushi Kan, delicious as always.

[livejournal.com profile] maaboroshi kindly assembled my new DVD/CD shelves from Ikea and I put them up and filled them. Love 'em.

Then this evening [livejournal.com profile] maaseru and [livejournal.com profile] maaboroshi and I watched the first episode of season 2 Heroes, "Four Months Later" - right after re-watching the last episode of last season. The new season looks great; there were plenty of surprises, and a few very interesting set-ups. I loved what has happened with Nathan - especially the outcome of the scenes with his mother! No, no, most of all the strange sight of himself in the mirror. I was delighted to see Ando, too. We all chortled over all the Kensei scenes. And then... the very last scene of all - what a way to end an episode! (And how's that for being discreet about spoilers?)

Looking forward to next week's "Lizard".
