I got this from [livejournal.com profile] moonchildetoo. I actually already knew my Egyptian astrological sign - and this confirms it - though I'm not sure it isn't still bogus: it might have the same source. On the other hand, when it comes to astrology, who's to divide the bogus from the genuine, and how? If it was good enough for Hermes Trisamgistus, it's good enough for me. Hail Bastet.

Partly right. I am impatient but not rash. I am devoted but not anxious. Balance and harmony - yes, that's me.

I tried it, and ended up with Mout of all deities.

In some respects, appropriate...and yet unnerving, too.

Why - you don't like ultimate responsibility for all of creation?

I have enough difficulties with ultimate responsibility simply for my own life. The whole of creation is several orders of magnitude above that!

I see your point.

I'm now really curious, since this is also a primary characteristic of Libra, which also covers those dates - any idea to what extent Egyptian astrology informs our standard European version?

None whatsoever. It might be an interesting thing to research.

I'm Thoth. Very Arian, actually (which I also am).

Like they say, it's the Thoth that counts. ;)

Given the Basted reference, would the right riposte be "Hiss"?

Yeah, and my response to that is what is fondly referred to around here as "Halloween cat." Arched back and tail, wide eyes, claws out, and raised hair all along the spine.

You're supposed to be *wri*ting hair-raising adventures, not acting them out.

Depends on the experience. And, I suppose, on the writing [although among LMB fans I tend to automatically assume good writing].

How generous of you.

But you know, so do I. And it stands to reason that the people who recognize good writing are the ones who will be able to produce good writing.

Of the people whose writing I have read that I know to be Bujold readers, this holds true.

Oh, have you been reading [livejournal.com profile] mmegaera's book? It's quite good.

Of course it is. It wasn't the only example of Bujold-fan writing I was thinking of, but it's a prime example.
