Food and Fireworks

Rhys thought once that sex and love would be enough to keep Gwen with him forever. Gwen Cooper was the sexiest girl in Cardiff, and she loved him eagerly. How could he be so lucky?

Maybe he wasn't. Maybe there was a price to pay. Maybe other men were more interesting, men she worked with, men she met in her mysterious Torchwood job. Why wasn't she coming home at night?

She loved his cooking, and he went through the cookbooks for dishes she'd loved. Mongolian stew. Duck a l'orange. Spaghetti fiorentine.

Perhaps he could keep their love alive with food.

That would be one way to handle it - and I suspect it might be what they're planning. I don't want to see Rhys leave the show, since I like him. But I can't see other resolutions. (Except in the privacy of my own head, of course, where I can plot Gwen/Jack/Rhys threesomes.)
