After the Valiant

The Cardiff rain put UNIT Commander Trevor Finch in a bad mood. He sat on a park bench with Jack Harkness, who was abominably cheerful, probably because of his warm coat.

"You were on the Valiant," Finch said. "We have pictures."

"My best profile, I hope."

Finch grunted. "Tell me what went on."

"You think I can tell you more about it than your own operatives?"

"What happened to Saxon?"

"No one knows. Maybe the Toclafane zapped him."

Was Harkness lying? Cheeky bastard. "What about the Doctor?"

"Can't tell you," said Jack vaguely. "He comes, he goes, he comes again...."

Ha, yes. And I bet Jack knows how annoying that is and does it on purpose.

Poor UNIT. No-one will tell them anything.

Jack doesn't mind annoying those who are prefectly capable of annoying him in return, if he only gave them an opening. Which he prefers not to. Unless he wants to take them to bed; then he uses different strategies.
