Jack touched the glass of the Face of Boe's life-support containment unit. "I got your message. How are you feeling, old man?"
"Much better, boy. Your Doctor was here to see me today. He saved all the clones."
Jack grinned. "We knew he would. And he really isn't mine. Was Rose with him?"
"A lovely girl, but she does have an attitude."
"Look who's talking!"
The ancient face chuckled. "You should get back together with them."
"I tried. He's elusive."
"Do it soon. Such love should not be forgotten."
"I'm not in any hurry," said Jack. "And I'll never forget."

Date: 2007-08-01 08:34 am (UTC)Yes, I think it was just a nickname, that because of his vanity (and similarity of one element in placename), Jack's friends were teasing him that he might as well be a creature that was a giant face! I can't see the Face of Boe ever having had a body or limbs, but being part of a species that is just disembodied heads.
