A wonderful thing happened today. I got a gift in the mail, from someone I love dearly.¹ It's a copy of the brand-new hardcover book by Lois McMaster Bujold, the Sharing Knife: Legacy, and it's inscribed by the author:

I am totally thrilled by this.

Yes! I'm delighted! And I wanted my own copy of the book (of course) but couldn't afford it till it comes out in paperback. I'm very happy about it.

It really is. Funny thing is, synchronistically, I was thinking warm thoughts about him just a couple of days ago (wondering if I'd ever see him again), not knowing this gift was on its way.
