Missing Person
Cathy Swanson studied the photo of Captain Jack Harkness: broad smile, teasing eyes. He'd been gone for weeks... off the map. Disappeared as mysteriously as he'd once arrived.
How can a man go missing when he never legally existed? How had he put himself into a position of authority and power?
Arrogant sod. She had to hope he wasn't dead. She didn't understand what he and Torchwood did, but she was grudgingly willing to admit that it was important work.
She was forced to admit, if only to herself, that she very much wanted to see Captain Jack Harkness again.

Date: 2007-07-13 11:14 am (UTC)I like the way Jack has a sort of paradoxical existence - he doesn't exist, he isn't answerable for his actions - he doesn't even have an address or a driver's license - but he has a lot of power (at least in Cardiff!) and pretty much does what he likes - and the authorities jump when he makes demands. I think it's wonderful!
