Just because she's so cute, I took her up to Marcelle's balcony for a photo in daylight, without flash. The colours are much better.

Not quite, but close! And the eyes are much more red than that.

What a sweetheart!
She has a calm, sweet, vaguely sad expression in this, as opposed to the manic, demon-eyed stare in the other one! I like the neatly folded ears and the wee forepaws.

Yes. She is truly a lady and I think was a little nervous about being out on a balcony at the time. Her ears fold very genteelly.

Is her blanket/towel responsible for the blue colour-cast?

I don't think so. I think it is probably the camera, at a guess. The light was not bright - Squeaker was not in direct sunlight - but it was clear daylight. I took a picture with my own camera too, but such is my technical inexpertise that I haven't got it to work right yet. We'll see what the colouring came out like with it.

I'm leary of taking Honey out on the balcony. I think she might jump off and run free, knowing how willingly she jumps from my arms in the apartment.

I'm not sure how Squeaker felt about the balcony. Her nose was twitching like mad with the unfamiliar scents. I held her firmly enough - she doesn't jump around when I hold her much - and the put her on a chair that was enclosed wicker on three sides (with myself at the other side). So I felt safe enough, but wouldn't have wanted to stay there were long. Though she is usually politely sedate, I know how fast she can move if she wants to.

Yes, especially if something spooks her.

I think it is just an overwhelming sense of scent and sound. They are animals of habit and really notice when something is different. Just move things around in her cage and she'll investigate everything.
