Brief Encounter

Toshiko recognized Rhys browsing in the music shop: she had, after all, composed his dossier before Gwen had ever joined Torchwood. And had, later, replaced it with something they wouldn't mind Gwen seeing when she looked up the background research they had done. The version that didn't mention purple undies.

Rhys noticed her looking at him. He smiled politely. He was holding a CD. "Think my girlfriend would like this?"

Toshiko considered saying, "I have a crush on your girlfriend." Or maybe: "Your girlfriend fancies our boss, but that's all right, so does everyone."

Instead she said, "She'd love it."
