I liked:

"You're supposed to say 'sorry'."

And the bit about the hermits was very funny. Also Martha freaking about the hand and the way the Doctor waves to her *giggles*

I went on a bit of a DW icon hunt... that one is by [livejournal.com profile] specialicons, who also has a very cute one of Jack asking if someone just kissed him.

And such a very cute moment that was!

Fabulous, isn't it? It's by [livejournal.com profile] specialicons, there are a whole pile of animated DW icons for various episodes.

"You're supposed to say 'sorry'."

Ooh, yes, that was wondeful!

the way the Doctor waves to her

Such a wonderful visual, such a great bit of business - so much character to it, and visual humour, and it really delineated the gulf between them - and the affection too.

All that, and more. It was just great!
I'm keeping more Radio Times cuttings for you! This week's has more about the Master!

Thank you for saving the Radio Times cuttings. As for the Master... When John Smith had to 'die' for the Doctor to return, I felt no sorrow because I liked the Doctor more. When Professor Yana died for the Master's return, I really did feel bad about it.

He was delightful in so many ways. Loved his easy friendship with the Doctor, too. Perhaps that was meant to be a sort of echo of the friendship that once existed between the real Master and the Doctor?

Well, they are Time Lords.
Not sure how canonical the TV movie with Eight is, but I vaguely recall that claimed they were originally brothers, which ups the stakes in terms of mythical resonances.

Brothers? really? How Cain and Abelish. Fun.

The movie with Eight is supposed to be totally canon, though personally I'm in denial about the bit where the Doctor's mother was human. I have a copy of that now - Sandi gave it to me yesterday.

Oh, yes. I don't even know the DOctor/Master background stories and that still riveted my attention. Especially the Doctor's reaction. A great moment.

Yes, Chantho was delightful in many ways - her character, her speech patterns, her sense of humour, the cute wiggle of her prosthetics, her loyalty and courage - really, I can't think of anything I didn't like about her.

I think I kinda fell in love with that prosthetics job... jeez...

and yes, she was a delight wasn't she? and so brave bless her.

The Master zapped Chantho with his live electical cables - the big ones like Jack got killed with.

I'll get to it... after I get done helping my fandoms with 30 fandom fic things... I challenged myself to do it... keep poking me about it though... else I'll forget.

Oh yeah, and most of these involve the Torchwood and Doctor Who peeps...

I generally work under the assumption that, provided the main pieces are there and the character hasn't been interred, cremated or entirely blown up on screen, the fic doctors will find a way…

Date: 2007-06-20 09:54 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] fajrdrako.livejournal.com
I come from a background of having read comic books for many, many years. The rule of thumb is that even if the character has been interred, cremated or blown up (or dissolved to atoms or trapped in a far dimension) they will come back one way or another.

Fic writers are equally ingenious.

On the whole, I tend to work within somewhat more conventional bounds of physical possibility.

I'll certainly write something about Chantho if I can think of a way to give her a story that isn't banal. I suppose a lot depends on what happens next episode - what environment is left around her.
