Doctor Who Peter...
Jun. 16th, 2007 08:00 amOn getting up this morning I watched the Doctor Who Peter that aired a few days ago - a kids' show specially dedicated to today's episode of Doctor Who.
They held a contest to cast a kid's role in Doctor Who and the show followed the process, then showed the young winner acting his part. It was like watching Any Dream Will Do all over again, though quicker, and without the melodrama. (But not without the tears.)
It was fun to see John Barrowman teasing the boy, and the bits of scenes they showed. Not that my appetite wasn't whetted already for "Utopia".
We also got the show's host and John Barrowman showing us how to put together a TARDIS. They skipped the tedious business of growing the yellow coral for five hundred years, and went right to how to put together the cardboard and bits of plastic and holographic paper. Their results were spiffy but clearly they are more artsy-crafty than I am. And they didn't explain how to do the sound effects.

I also got to hear the sound of a Tardis now and again, but never seen one.
Yes, but how cool! Just think how close you might have been to actually travelling in time!
As delusions go, that's a good one. I keep looking around Ottawa for evidence of Time Lords, and not finding a thing.
