Tonight [livejournal.com profile] maaseru came down to my place and we watched Week 11 of Any Dream Will Do. Now at last I don't have to avert my eyes from certain websites, mailing lists and LJs because I know who Joseph is. And congratulations to Lee Meade, who clearly is a gorgeous and talented Joseph! Yes, for a long time Keith was my first pick - mostly for his charm - but I can see that Lee is a better pick. And I loved his performances too.

Seeing Lee's Paint it Black again was a particular treat. It was fun to see the old Joseph contenders return - especially Seamus, whose singing I love. It was fun to see David Tennant in the audience. It was fun to see Connie Fisher. And they sang some songs I particularly love: "The Sound of Music", "Beyond the Sea" and "New York, New York".

I'm sorry the show is over. I may go back and watch How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria - I only saw a couple of episodes of it - but it isn't the same, when you know the winner in advance.

I'm still humming the Joseph music...!

Yo, would/could you beta a Supernatural fic? I know you don't watch it, but you've got a good eye for what works generally.

Yes, certainly, I'd be happy to beta it for you - as long as you don't mind that I don't know the canon at all, and can't usually tell Sam and Dean apart!

Love your icon. That's one of the great Lymond quotes. "Don't interrupt." Hee!

was good, wasn't it? I must say, the big-band performances were a treat (though I didn't like Lewis' PERFORMANCE that much - the song is, of course, lovely). On the other hand, each time Keith sang 'my love' in Moondance, I squeed. Honest. (It was by the end of that song that my cat stopped paying attention to my noises. Good for him, as New York, New York was next... ahem.

I absolutely love Keith too. I so want him to have a very nice brilliant career too - he obviously deserves it. Not just his charm - the voice too, adn the hard work... he really did mature a lot during the mere weeks there, and along with some of the rest, worked his head off.

Connie was lovely, wasn't she? I mean, that was a PERFORMANCE song she sang, not a 'show' one. I really do hope Lee, and whoever else of the boys goes on to actual stage performance, manages to mature that way. So that even for one song, I do not see LEE or KEITH - I see the character, as I was seeing Maria when Connie was singing.

agh... *wanders off to get ready for work*

Definitely! And Lewis - well, he's improved so much, but still suffered in comparison with Keith and Lee. Yes, I hope to see more of Keith in something. I kept thinking that there were probably many young male leads in musical theatre that he'd be more suited for than Joseph - that might have been the goal of this show, but there are many more musicals and he'd be excellent in many of them.

I loved it that Connie wore her "Maria" costume. Yes, she was so absolutely in character... that was fun. I wish I could see the whole live show.
