Girl in the Heart

Grief wrapped Ianto in layers of misery. He sat at his desk, head hanging, heart hurting.

Jack touched his shoulder. "You all right?"

"The pain doesn't stop."

Jack gave his shoulder a squeeze.

"Lisa. I can't forget her... She stays in my heart."

Jack nodded. "I lost a girl at Canary Wharf, too. A Londoner. Rose. I didn't know... till later."

"I'm sorry to hear it, sir. Does the pain ever go away?"

"It still hurts. I learned to live with it."

Ianto put his hand over Jack's, on his shoulder.

"Just so you know: you're not alone," Jack promised.
