Have you ever missed an important appointment because you have become so engrossed in a book you forgot the time or were up so late reading that you didn't wake up in time? Been late to work because you couldn't resist the temptation and left the house too late?

No, but only because I'm very careful about those things. I have certainly missed bus stops because I was reading on the bus, and have had to rush to get to places on time because I was reading. I take that as normal.

I have read through my subway stop too many times to count.

Yes. It's hardest when the weather is bad (so you can't use peripheral vision to tell where you are, because you can't see throught the bus windows), or when traffic is unusually light and you don't think to look up because the trip is much shorter than usual.

I don't want to say how often I've missed my stop. Too often.
