Jasmine

Somewhere a young child went missing.
Myth met the real world and prevailed.
A little girl slipped through the crack.
Love took her, smiling as she went.
Love left her mother despairing.

Waiting for another myth, an
Outstanding event in space-time,
Reality gave way to the
Logically impossible.
Dimensions unfolding, showing
Starry, starry nights of wonder.

Fifth in a series following Endings and Beginnings, Notes for Gwen Cooper, Time Present, and Camping.

Lovely! The second verse is my favorite.

Oh yes! I think this might be your best yet. I think I like "Myth met the real world and prevailed" as the best line, just because it captures so well what Jack said about the faeries.

Bravo!

Really? Thank you! I'm trying to go for a different tone in each one (for variety) and sometimes it's tricky to see how I'm managing.

That's where we differ (and where your skill outmatches my own). I don't think in these I could actually try for any particular tone. They either just form or don't form. About the only control I have is choosing the title which seems to help select the words I use.

So I commend your proficiency.

I just try for 'different'. But... each poem does its own thing, too. And if it really doesn't work, I scrap it and try again. I still don't have "They Keep Killing Suzie", drat.
