Windy Sunday...

Nice day.

The nicest thing that happened: I got some relief from allergies. There was a day last week when it got warm, really warm, something like 10^oC, and rained. That either triggered candidiasis or allergies or both, and I've been a wreck ever since - the worst problem being swollen, itchy skin and eyes. Itchy and uncomfortable from head to toe. Since I keep waking up at night too itchy to sleep, I'm tired. So finally I gave up waiting for it to Just Go Away, and went to the pharmacy for antihistamines. One Claritin tablet and woo, the itch fades, I feel infinitely better.

Other nice things? I finished reading The Sharing Knife: Legacy by Lois McMaster Bujold. Had a funny conversation afterwards with friends who insisted that Bujold wrote novels about telepathic horses. I argued she never wrote a telepathic horse in her life. Turns out they were thinking of Mercedes Lackey. Ack! I can't think of many fantasy writers less alike - in quality if not style.

commodorified, I'll phone you tomorrow about passing over the book. A rendezvous for bubble tea, perhaps?

After supper with maaseru and maaboroshi we watched Kinky Boots, which was as good as I rememebered. I made maaseru and maaboroshi try to remember or guess where they'd last seen the guy who played Lola - Chiwetel Ejiofor - because I'd just watched Serenity again with them two again weeks ago. And they didn't guess, I had to tell them. That man is just too talented.

Bujold and Lackey seem very far apart in a lot of ways. I wonder how they managed to confuse the two?

I really don't know. Lack of familiarity with both? American female SF/fantasy writers? They don't seem in any way similar to me but the mind makes funny connections sometimes.
