...And I should be so lucky.

I go this test from that classy dame, [livejournal.com profile] vervassal, The Classic Dames Test. And my result was my favourite 'classy dame' of all time!

Below you'll find your test result. After, continue on to your homescreen to discover what we're about.

Katharine Hepburn
You scored 14% grit, 33% wit, 38% flair, and 19% class!
You are the fabulously quirky and independent woman of character. You go your own way, follow your own drummer, take your own lead. You stand head and shoulders next to your partner, but you are perfectly willing and able to stand alone. Others might be more classically beautiful or conventionally woman-like, but you possess a more fundamental common sense and off-kilter charm, making interesting men fall at your feet. You can pick them up or leave them there as you see fit. You share the screen with the likes of Spencer Tracy and Cary Grant, thinking men who like strong women.

Find out what kind of classic leading man you'd make by taking the Classic Leading Man Test.

How utterly good! Now, I don't think I've ever seen Babara Stanwyck in a movie. I should do something about that.

You need to see Double Indemnity... Classic noir.

She was one of my mother's favourites in the 1930s-40s: the style icon for girls who weren't especially pretty but liked to be well-dressed.
Née Ruby Stevens, she started off as a chorus-girl in the '20s. She had a 'lavender marriage' with Robert Taylor, until he started getting more interested in heterosexuality in the 1950s, and went off with a younger, straight woman. Her real partner was her agent, Helen Ferguson.

Double Indemnity... Classic noir.

[livejournal.com profile] maaboroshi is on a noir kick these days. I wonder if she has it and if she'd be willing to show it to me.

I think I'd like to read her bio. (Katharine Hepburn's too; I've read one of them, but it was fairly old, written prior to her death.)
