Heroes: Company Man...

Exciting episode.
Things I liked:
- Seeing Claude 15 years ago. And 14 years ago. And getting a sense of his relationship to Mr. Bennet and Mystery Man. I hadn't expected to see Claude in this one at all, and looking so clean-shaven and respectable. I love him more all the time! I'm such a hopeless fangirl, really. I loved his whole scene in the car with Mr. Bennet.
- Claire being heroic, and her father helping her.
- Mr. Bennet getting the Haitian to meddle with his own memory, to save Claire.
- Mrs. Bennet being so proud of Claire.
- Hiro as a little kid! So cute! (But cuter still as an adult.)
- Seeing the rooftop garden, as it used to be.
- Seeing Mr. Bennet being given custody of Claire.
Things I didn't like:
- No Peter. Do I sound repetitious? Dammit, I'm greedy, I want more Peter! At least he got mentioned.
- Matt being an idiot again. Still.
Questions:
- Where was Hannah? I thought she was with Ted and Matt.
- Who was the actor who played the Mystery Man, Mr. Bennet's employer?

Date: 2007-02-27 04:09 pm (UTC)There seem to be three nexuses of action: Odessa TX, Las Vegas, Nevada, and NYC. Would looking at this triangle on a map be illuminating?

Date: 2007-02-27 03:30 am (UTC)I loved Claire & Mr. Bennet's relationship. *sob* I bawled at the end. Although he's very, very grey, Mr. Bennet clearly loves Claire very much, and he's had Claude's words to him running through his head for years. I'm glad he did the right thing for Claire.
Claude was awesome. Those flashbacks explain so much. No wonder he's bitter, poor dear!
wee!Hiro was absolutely adorable. I'm amazed that Hiro's father is involved, but it's cool that he is.

Loved the scene where he was picking his glasses and told her she was adopted. Yes, that was all done so well - Mr. Bennet is a scary man, but he loves Claire. The motivation for what he did was so well set up. I forgave him a lot for his actions in this episode.
he's had Claude's words to him running through his head for years.
He listened and remembered but only now has the motivation to act as he did. I love the idea of Claude's influence lingering.
No wonder he's bitter, poor dear!
I want to see more of Claude! Even if invisible!
wee!Hiro was absolutely adorable.
He certainly was.
I'm amazed that Hiro's father is involved, but it's cool that he is.
That completely took me by surprise, but it makes so much sense.

Date: 2007-02-27 04:48 am (UTC)I love Claude's involvement. I wonder if he realize's that Peter's Claire is the same girl. I hope he does. I had a feeling she would tie into Claude's development when Peter was going on about her "sad little smile."
I wonder whose orders supercede HRG's with the Haitian? Linderman? Someone needs Claire to remember. Cool!
*Hugs HRG* Have I mentioned that I love him?
Claire's Big Nuke Scene -- Whoa! Whoa! Whoa!

Date: 2007-02-27 01:51 pm (UTC)I agree. It's all connected, and everyone is connected in ways we don't know about yet, and we're learning more about it all the time.
I wonder if he realize's that Peter's Claire is the same girl.
He might. He's smart! And he knows the two separate links, so it would be easy to put that two and two together.
I wonder whose orders supercede HRG's with the Haitian? Linderman?
Maybe. Maybe Claude. Maybe Mr. Nakamura. Maybe someone we don't even know yet. So intriguing!
Claire - wow! she's increasingly impressive.

Date: 2007-02-27 03:16 pm (UTC)I was surprised to see Hiro's dad, but the one that really shocked me enough to squeal out loud - the Haitian's necklace. Eek!
And who was Claude protecting that got him in trouble? I'm dying to know!
I'm guessing Claire and the Haitian will head to NYC - it's there and Vegas things seem to be coalescing, and she just might run to Peter. I hope Claude sticks around!

And who was Claude protecting that got him in trouble? I'm dying to know!
Yes! I wondered if it could be Mohindar's father - and I wondered where Nathan and Peter's father might fit in - well, we won't know till we know and I bet it will be a surprise.
I'm guessing Claire and the Haitian will head to NYC
Seems likely, especially when Peter is there.
I hope Claude sticks around!
Oh yes, yes, yes, yes...!

Also, check out the comic. It center's on HRG/Claire/Claude. Claude is the one who tells HRG to get Claire away from the burning building, even though Claude was the one hurt:

Date: 2007-02-28 07:02 pm (UTC)How so? Videos on the main website will only play in the United States, as far as I know. At least I haven't found any that I can view. If you know differently, please tell me how to find them!
They cut a flashback scene where Claude gives Claire her first teddy bear, and it's revealed that Claude was Claire's surrogate uncle and father figure for a while,
Oh, how wonderful! And how heartbreaking, because she must have just lost him when he ran. But lucky Claire, to have him as an uncle.

Nope. Nothing. Nada. I can watch the Nissan ad just fine. Then I get a message that this video cannot be viewed from my location. Meaning: I'm in the wrong country. Very annoying - bad enough that they won't let me watch it, do they have to tease me too? Grrr.
Claude is the one who tells HRG to get Claire away from the burning building, even though Claude was the one hurt:
Oooh - and I didn't think I could love Claude more than I already do.
At least they let me read the graphic novels on the site.

Date: 2007-02-28 10:13 pm (UTC)I was checking out some of the other comics last night. The Hana Gittleman ones rock, as does an HRG one called "Everything But The Guilt."

I'll look for them. So cool, that they have them there! I wonder how long they'll keep them on the site.

Date: 2007-03-04 12:11 am (UTC)Claude and Meredith cross paths and develop a relationship (platonic or romantic, either works). Claude tips Meredith that she's about to be tagged and figures she'll use fire as her escape. But, Claude also figures that Meredith will bail WITH Claire. It doesn't even occur to him that this mother wouldn't get her child out.
That's why Claude reacts the way he does during Hell's Angel ("The bitch blew-up!") It isn't simply that he was caught off guard; he's a senior trained agent who knows how volitile these powers can be. It's that it's personal. His faith in Meredith has been destroyed, and his clothes are burning in the fire she set, so he orders Bennet to get the baby they shouldn't have had to save.
Fast Forward --Uncle Claude gives Claire her first teddy bear and bonds with her, in part, because he feels that he has to atone for misjudging Meredith.

Uncle Claude gives Claire her first teddy bear and bonds with her, in part, because he feels that he has to atone for misjudging Meredith.
Awww! I really like this idea.
I believe and hope that Heroes was taping as I arrived home tonight. can hardly wait to watch...
