Most of my trips to the States have been associated with some sort of fannish gathering! aside from simply visiting fannish friends, the only exception I can think of was my visit to Clifton, Arizona when I spent Christmas with my grandfather at the age of 12.

Georgia and the Carolinas.
I have no intention of returning. The language situation may be easier, but I feel vastly more at home in France and Italy. Mind, I feel more at home in Strasbourg and Asti than I do in many places here in the UK.

I felt very much at home in Italy - how could one not? I never feel 'at home' in the U.S., unless in the homes of particularly good friends, but it's an interesting place to visit all the same, especially if you're a fan - and the only country that is even remotely convenient from Canada.

Good effort! I've seen this doing the rounds, but as I haven't made my way over the very large pond between our continents, it seemed like a waste of time. I'll get there, one day.
