Torchwood meme...

And old meme I thought I'd revive....
Torchwood
1. The first character I first fell in love with: Captain Jack Harkness. (The one played by John Barrowman, if there's any doubt here...)
2. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: Ianto
3. The character everyone else loves that I don't: Owen
4. The character I love that everyone else hates: Gwen (though I sometimes want to shake her!)
5. The character I used to love but don't any longer: ...? No, basically I just came to like everyone in the show more as it continued, including Owen.
6. The character I would shag anytime: Jack
7. The character I'd want to be like: Jack
8. The character I'd slap: Owen
9. A pairing that I love: Doctor/Jack (Okay, I know the Doctor isn't in Torchwood exactly, but close enough)
10. A pairing that I despise: I find myself avoiding all fic about Gwen/Owen.
11. The incidental character I can't forget: Detective Swanson
12. The character I hope to see in future: Bilis Manger
13. The biggest loose end: Where'd the pterodactyl go?
14. Best prop: The hand. Special mention: Ianto's stopwatch.
15. Best garment: (1) Jack's braces (2) Jack's greatcoat (3) Owen's leather jacket. Special mention: all Ianto's suits.

Date: 2007-02-07 02:14 pm (UTC)Gwen has wonderful moments and is sometimes adorable, but sometimes so impulsive and irrational that she'd make me groan. No sense, that woman, though lots of heart.

Enough space?
Okay.
The hero of the story, the leader of Torchwood 3, played by John Barrowman, is called Captain Jack Harkness, but he took the name as part of a scam he pulled when he was a con man in mid-1941. In the episode of Torchwood called "Captain Jack Harkness" he goes back in time to January 1941 and meets up with the man whose name he took, a heroic RAF pilot, the original Captain Jack Harkness, played by Matt Rippy. And our Jack falls for that Jack so it's all very romantic.
Does it make more sense now?

Date: 2007-02-08 11:06 am (UTC)I am really disappointed in this show, sigh.
That's too bad! Maybe next season will suit you better?
