Heroes: Distractions...

Love the show. Love it for giving me scenes with Claude and Peter. Distracting for sure. Love it that Peter used the word "regeneration". Love it that they eavesdropped on Simone and Isaac. Love it that Claude pushed Peter off the roof - and that Peter's powers went haywire.
I'd been cooling on the show a little before Christmas, but now it's better than ever.
- Hiro: Loved seeing him outmanoevering and manipulating his family. Thought he'd be at his father's mercy, but no! Clever devil. Gotta love Hiro. Loved Ando trying to hug Kamiko. Loved George Takei's performance.
- No Matt scenes, and I didn't even notice till this morning. Guess he's still plumbing.
- Linderman releases Jessica. Jessica imprisons Niki. I keep expecting Micah to do something about the situation. I'd like to see a little more ... something from DL. Toughness? He seems oddly helpless.
- Simone and Isaac. Love 'em. Love the love triangle with Peter, though of course in my imagination it involves Peter/Isaac as much as Peter/Simone.
- Claude and Peter... When I think about the episode, I just keep coming back to them. I'd love to know more about Claude's background. (Was he involved with Linderman? Professor Suresh? Mr. Bennet? Before becoming a freelancer?) Love it when he talked about Peter punching Nathan, who treats him like a pet. Yup, I think so.
- Why does Mr. Bennet seem so much less scary without his glasses? Loved it when Mrs. Bennet almost said his first name - just to tease us. Loved the suspense when Sylar was talking to her about Claire. Creepy! And come to think of it, the scene where Mr. Bennet was talking to Mrs. Bennet and we knew he was about to have her memory wiped was just as creepy.
- Loved Claire's scenes with her mother. Loved learning who her father was. Eeek! So perfect, so likely, and I never guessed! ...So Peter is Claire's uncle. Aww.

Date: 2007-02-07 03:56 am (UTC)Claude was right about Peter needing to focus, up to a point. I hope the Peter/Claire family connection means that Claude and Claire meet. I can't wait for that heart-tugging double standard. I have a suspicion that Claude would put a spike through his own head before he pushed Claire off a roof, even if he knows she can regenerate.
I also hope Claude will be in the same room when Claire tells her uncle, the nurse, about her autopsy anatomy lesson, courtesy of a certain quarterback. Claude will be a seemingly stoic puddle in 30 seconds flat. The lesson the invisible man needs to learn is that there are different kinds of strength.

I suspect they will.

Uh... why?
Claude will be a seemingly stoic puddle in 30 seconds flat.
I don't think it would take much, really.
The lesson the invisible man needs to learn is that there are different kinds of strength.
I suspect he knows it, but can't afford to admit it at this point.

-----------
Claude's reaction shot while Peter talked about her "sad little smile." Why would the writers care about those details unless they planned on using Claire to build Claude's emotional layers and dare I say it...angst. After all, they could have just written Peter making a passing reference to a girl he met with regen powers and called it a day.
