From [livejournal.com profile] thefridayfive:
1. Would you rather have a fun job that doesn't pay well or a boring job that does?
I'd rather have a fun job that paid well, thanks all the same. I know that wasn't the question. And it has been my experience that the offer the question implies isn't the choice that life usually gives us. It offers the choice of high-paying, interesting jobs with a high stress level; or low-paying, boring jobs, with a high stress level; or unemployment. The question is way too optimistic.
2. Would you sacrifice your morals for a job?
No, of course not.
3. Would you ever take a job that requires you to be in costume?
Are you kidding? I'd love a job that required me to be in costume! Costuming is fun!
4. What is your fantasy job?
Writing.

5. Would you like fries with that?
Chips. I have reverted to fannish Doctor Who vocabulary.

Sooo true!

*snickers* RPG-ing in the same chippery with Ten recommending the way to get chips also helps...

I am so suggestible. Now I am thinking of going out at lunchtime to have chips for lunch.

I stopped following my diet because I was ill. Now I'm pretty much better, what excuse do I have?

I like the way my fannish obsessions are a good influence on me.

We should all have jobs that at least allow us to be in costume.

Also, so much word to this:
It offers the choice of high-paying, interesting jobs with a high stress level; or low-paying, boring jobs, with a high stress level; or unemployment.

Yes. Puts a bit of imagination and fun into things.

Yikes, no! No way would I do anything that required fancy dress all the time!

No. My last (only) job was quite interesting, but had lousy pay. And I know a few accountants/bank/insurance workers who are raking in the cash, but have very dull jobs.

And as to 2: If I could commit murder and get away with it to get my idea job, I would.

Costuming doesn't always mean fancy, though I take your meaning. Oddly, I mostly don't care much what I wear normally - fashions don't interest me much - but I love costuming, especially as a historical or fannish thing.

I know a few accountants/bank/insurance workers who are raking in the cash, but have very dull jobs.

I know a few of those - I work with a few of those! - and I really don't envy them.

If I could commit murder and get away with it to get my idea job, I would.

Remind me not to stand between you and a job you want, O warrior woman!

Not me. I have my own style, which gets tamed for work purposes, but costuming doesn't appeal.

Remind me not to stand between you and a job you want, O warrior woman!

I wish I had killed the CV of the back-stabbing little bitch who got my job. She had shoved the envelope under the door, after everyone else had left. I spotted it, had some thoughts (I knew she was after my job) - but - being a good girl - put it on the secretary's desk. It was the last day for applications. I wish I had had the courage to shred the bloody thing.

In a listed building? Dear me, no!
But there was a shredder.

A sense of honour, I have concluded, is self-sabotaging.

Ah well, I'm very much into a sense of honour, but no one can say I don't self-sabotage.

I once set fire to a document at work. Well, not a document, exactly. A birthday card. Or a Christmas card? I forget which. It came from my ex-husband, not too long after he left me, and his second wife. With some encouragement from my co-worker, who was a pagan with a few choice curses to add to the occasion, I set fire to the card in the drinking fountain by the box office. Unfortunately it set off fire alarms throughout the whole building and the Technical Director came running to see what was going on. Thank goodness the fire department didn't turn up as well.

I was too embarrassed to explain.

Not one of my finest moments... but funny in retrospect.
