There's a brief but interesting Metro interview with John Barrowman about his thoughts on his role in Doctor Who (where he gets to be 'sassier') and Torchwood series 2:
...He hopes the hit drama will go even further this time.So what does he mean by "going further"?
"What I would like to see is that we become edgier and we push the limit a little more on the adult aspect of everything.
"In the first series we played it safe a little bit and this second series, I hope that we will go further."

Date: 2007-01-24 07:21 pm (UTC)I was hoping for more sexy stuff between Jack and Ianto. So far it's mostly been hints and teases.

Date: 2007-01-24 07:30 pm (UTC)- action Tosh (she was terrific in "Countrycide")
- a Tosh/Gwen romance (I think they're gorgeous together)
- a good Tosh-bsed storyling, where her talents can save the day
- more chances for Tosh to interact with Jack, since I like the scenes where they get to talk together

Date: 2007-01-26 03:38 am (UTC)Yes, yes, yes!!!! I think all those are fab ideas. I like Action!Tosh, and I think I would like to see Techie!Tosh definitely solving a problem with her skills, rather than just being an adjunct.
As for a Tosh/Gwen romance, be still my beating heart.
Getting back to "going further", perhaps they'll be a bit more graphic with the same-sex stuff. There's been a reasonable amount of snogging, but it seems that the het pairings go a bit further with what's represented on screen.

Date: 2007-01-26 03:48 am (UTC)Yes - she has shown herself to be very capable and resourceful, but still hasn't been a central part of the plots. The episode which featured her most, "Greeks Bearing Gifts", made her the problem, not the solution. More Tosh!
As for Tosh/Gwen... I can only hope. And why not?
perhaps they'll be a bit more graphic with the same-sex stuff.
That's a good thought. So far they've been very graphic with the het scenes, less so with the f/f scenes, and very circumspect with the m/m scenes. It would be nice to see it all more balanced.
Not that I'm holding my breath, but I can hope.
Especially since Captain Jack is so sexy.

Date: 2007-01-24 11:32 pm (UTC)But then it just wouldn't be Torchwood, would it?

Date: 2007-01-25 02:14 am (UTC)As for common sense: I'd like to see more of it on the part of some of the characters. Owen leaving the keys in the SUV in "Countrycide"? Gwen tossing a chisel into an alien pod? Tosh baring her soul - and Torchwood secrets - to a stranger in a bar? I'd like to see less of that kind of thing.
The rest, especially the characterization bits - which Torchwood is already strong on - want more of.
