After work, I made a brief but satisfying visit to the Silver Snail for my weekly comics, and then met

After bubble tea for dessert (mango!), we went to the Clock Tower Brew Pub, where Guy Gavriel Kay gave a reading from his new book, Ysabel, which I had started reading, with great pleasure, at lunchtime. Beautiful, beautiful prose: I'd love it whatever the subject, but the subject is a medieval cathedral - among other things - so I'm enjoying it doubly. I didn't read far at lunchtime, though, only to about page 20, and Guy Kay read a section from a little further on, so it was delightfully new to me. I got his autograph on both Ysabel and his poetry book Beyond This Dark House, and a hug, which was even better, and a chance for a brief conversation.
