End of Days sets up
The start of a renaissance:
TARDIS meets the Hub.

(My brain does this kind of thing when I'm napping at lunchtime. I wonder why.)

I's finally watchin' it!

So far... I can say I'm really impressed with Burn Gorman's (sp?) acting!
And I've got the shivers already, even though I'm interrupting the watching for... various reasons.

Yes, Burn Gorman's acting is magnificent. Really. Especially at the end - wow. It makes me hope for better things from Owen in series 2.

True, but his piece after Jack fires him, before he chooses to hit the "up" button in the elevator, is my favourite.

Hopefully we'll get better things from Owen, and a whole lotta good things from all around. And for all around.

And now am going to sleep; will write more about my impressions from the ep tomorrow; possibly will re-watch tomorrow night...

Yes, that is wonderful acting. You can just see everything that Owen is feeling. And after all that irritation I've had with Owen all along, he made me feel terribly sorry for him, just by the whole sense of despair he was projecting.

Hopefully we'll get better things from Owen

Which would be so interesting to see. I love redemption stories. Stories about people who learn from their mistakes. (Jack's story is already a redemption story: he goes from scoundrel to hero in two episodes of Doctor Who.)

will write more about my impressions from the ep tomorrow

I look forward to it.

*grin* I like :P

Hub flirts with TARDIS
TARDIS flirts back - they decide
To share Captain Jack.

*grin* There is more. Haven't yet decided whether that's a good thing or a bad thing :P

Now, I had an argument with [livejournal.com profile] duckbunny over this.

Jack was the only crossover charecter, yes?

So Ms. TARDIS couldn't.

But we heard her voice.

Bunny says that doesn't count - I do.

Count for what purpose?

The TARDIS was in the Hub. Surely no one doubts that.

But it was said that Jack was the only charecter that "crossed over" the series - and I count the TARDIS as a charecter [come on, she even has a card in the top trumps set].

Russell T. Davies was quibbling. Not for the first time. We didn't actually see the TARDIS, we just heard it, so he isn't quite proved a liar. Are you surprised? Shouldn't be. Davies is as much a con man as our Jack ever was.

(I think this goes under the category of "it takes one to know one", or "it takes one to write one". Or maybe, like Lois McMaster Bujold, he reserves the right to come up with a better idea in any contingency. And never say never.)
