What Remains

Jack Harkness liked to celebrate holidays with sex. His memory was full of sensuous recollections of special occasions, special people: Rainbow Day on Durla with the dancer Seijong; Heroes’ Eve with the Chula warrior Pagat. Christmas with Rose and the Doctor – there was a powerful memory that even now could overwhelm him with emotion.

Those were the best times. Then came the bad times, when holidays meant nothing and sex the mark of loneliness and fear.

Now, wrapped in Ianto’s arms as he slept, with Ianto’s sweet breath against his cheek, this would be a solstice worth remembering once again.

I'm glad you liked it, and thanks for saying so. I've really come to love Ianto....

And that's a wonderful icon!

It's my "fannish" icon, but I thought you'd appreciate it. :)

Ianto's adorable. :) And perfect for Mr Capt. Intense Harkness.

I thought you'd appreciate it.

I certainly do! And I'm not seeing nearly enough of Kurt these days.

What does this icon say?

Yup, Ianto's sweet Welsh vowels and Captain Jack's brooding mysteries complement each other perfectly.

Aww... sweet. And I especially liked how you crossed Torchwood's universe over with the Legion's, you sneaky devil.

You noticed! Well, I thought that if any of my friends would notice that, you would. And I must say I like the idea.

Heh! thanks. (And I knew that you knew that I would!)

I also like the possibilities of Captain Jack Harkness on Durla. Think of how differently the second episode of Torchwood would have gone had he been able to tap the expertise of a shapeshifter or two, hm? I like that thought.

I have no doubt that (in the Torchwood universe of my fevered imagination) Captain Jack Harkness has been to Durla and has befriended many Durlans and has a few charming and risque stories to tell about his stories there.

Oh, absolutely! I'm just wondering if you've thought of writing any of them down [g].

I'm contemplating Captain Jack's take on the Durlans' attitudes towards gender... that is, that it is not binary and not static. Hm!

I think Captain Jack would enjoy the Durlan attitude to gender and to personal style! People choosing what they want to look like. Or choosing what they want to be like.
