The hamster wheel...

For a while the new budgies, Phoenix and Longshot, were a little overwhelmed by their new surroundings and were being fairly quiet, sitting shoulder to shoulder on a perch and assessing their new world. With Logan trying to impress them with his acrobatics in the adjacent cage.

Today, something has happened to wake them up. Jumping beans? Coffee? They are in constant motion this evening, exploring under the paper in their cage bottom, climbing through the rungs of their ladder, jumping from perch to perch, and running, running, and running some more in the hamster wheel. Fast running, too. I could put Longshot in a race and win money betting on him. My goodness those little legs can move.

I'm feeling lively too - not so much physically as mentally. The other day I had dinner with commodorified and was impressed by her mental energy and vocally envying it. Well, this morning I wrote a story before work, finished a massive job at work, wrote a drabble when I got home, and am now reading to embark on making a bunch of Christmas presents - shh! don't tell the recipients I'm making them chocolate in decorative molds.

Life as a hamster wheel? I hope there's something more positive to it than that.

Chocolate in decorative molds? Yummmm ... that's probably a little too tempting (for me that is). I hope your recipients enjoy them -- for however long the chocolates last (not very :-).

I'm giving the chocolate to my colleagues at work. It's a sort of tradition.
