Torchwood: what we like...

frock has an interesting poll in torch_wood - she asked people to say what they liked about the show. A lot of answers were, predictably, references to a character or a pairing - Captain Jack, Ianto, Jack/Ianto, Gwen/Owen, and so on- and Tosh (I do so love Tosh!)... I said my favourite thing was "Captain Jack's smile". Close enough, if I have to pick one thing! And not excluding the rest of him.

I loved it that a number of people said "the hand" and I almost wish I'd said that myself. Or the pterodactyl. That beast seems to have a lot of fans. And so he should.

The most interesting answer was from zoedoll, who said: "the fact it is basically designed for fangirls (and boys). seriously. it's like one long fanfic. in a good way." Oh so true. And shirasade put a similar thought in a different way: "the fact that in this show slash is text, not subtext." Yup. And the het relationships (including subtext) are intriguing and unusual as well.

Numerous people mentioned the gun room scene in Ghost Machine. I love the way we all seem to love the same (sensual) bits.

I couldn't specify a bit I liked more than any other - this whole rollercoaster of trains and screens of many types and the whole Tuesday [that's when I watch it] night experience is amazing.

Thankyou. It made me laugh out loud as I wrote the fic, then others said they wanted an icon of it, so I'm spreading the takeaway love. [That and current kitchen status = dodgy.]

And so creative. I always wish I could think of clever icons, but I seldom to. The most I aim for is prettiness.
