It has surprised me how many people whose LJs I've been reading, or that I'm on mailing lists with, have been asking, "What was that about Jack and Ianto at the end?" I mean: wasn't it obvious? It's innuendo, people - don't you get it when it bites you on the nose?

Easy translation: Jack's bummed out by the events of the episode. Ianto offers sex. Jack likes the idea and takes him up on it. In ten minutes. In his office. Or, likely, underneath his office, where Jack keeps his bed.

Are people confused by the mention of the stopwatch? Innuendo! Code! It doesn't matter what they do with the stopwatch. If it's any consolation, Jack didn't get it at first, either. And Jack is a man of considerable sophistication when it comes to sexual experience. From this point on, the stopwatch will be their private joke. Ianto wanted to get Jack's attention. He succeeded.

Now whenever Ianto pulls out his stopwatch, Jack will think of what they did, and maybe smile at the memory.

Geez. [livejournal.com profile] cereta said (http://cereta.livejournal.com/304128.html) there'd be people who'd be clueless, but still. *Facepalm*

I find it rather mind-boggling, both the denial and the 'not getting it'. How explicit do they have to be? Given the context, given all the hints - very broad hints - in the show....

Yeah, [livejournal.com profile] cereta was right. Perspicacious of her, but in retrospect, it was an easy call.
