Veronica Mars: Spit and Eggs...
Nov. 29th, 2006 08:57 pmI watched this week's Veronica Mars today. Oh my goodness. When they do a story-arc ending, it really does has impact, doesn't it? Once again Logan broke my heart... twice... in the best possible way.
(1) I take it the next story is going to be about who killed the Dean?
(2) Loved, loved, loved Logan going to the jail cell of Mercer and whoosit at the end.
(3) I kept wanting to scream at Veronica. Things like "You need Logan as much as he needs you! Tell him so!" and "Stop being so damned stoic when you're grieving." Loved when she was weeping in the shower.
(4) I liked the way Veronica's changed hairstyle reflected her situation and feelings - sort of like Kara in Battlestar Galactica.
(5) Loved the moment where Veronica and Logan saw each other at the party. Sizzling tension. Beautifully acted.
(6) What happened to the story about the Fitzpatricks and Mrs. Casablancas? are we going to return to that ever?
(7) I loved it that it was Parker who essentially saved Veronica from being raped.
Can anyone tell me what is happening with Veronica Mars now? Is this the hiatus? When is it coming back on TV? How long do I have to wait?

Date: 2006-11-30 03:04 am (UTC)The resident VM expert, my hub Christ, says that they ordered a full twenty episodes (they only originally ordered 13, so that's good news), which is a good sign.
Logan bugs me. Always has, always will. Having had RL bad boy experience, I can't stand the type. :P
I do, occasionally, appreciate Logan. Like the police car thing. Heh. Now that's how to use those bad boy instincts to good purpose.
I just want Veronica to find a nice, *decent* guy. Yes, I am and always was a Riley fan, and appreciated how he should have been a good thing for Buffy. If she weren't so into the very wrong type of guy. Sigh.

Yay!

Depends on the bad boy. Truth is, Logan doesn't really fit the 'bad boy' definition in my mind, though it would be all right if he did. He's headstrong and mouthy but that isn't the same.

Heh - yes, that was a good moment.

Wouldn't she be bored if he was too nice? Wallace is nice. Piz is nice. She likes spiciness.

I never understood about Riley. (Mostly because I didn't watch much Buffy. Terrible, I know.)

Date: 2006-11-30 04:14 am (UTC)Buffy! That is terrible. Buffy was fun. I liked Riley because he was 'normal' but he got annoying after awhile precisely because he couldn't accept that he was 'normal.' He was too obsessed with Buffy being 'abnormal.' He made such a big deal out of her being the hero, I was glad when he left and I didn't blame her, like she blamed herself, and like everyone else in the show blamed her, for his leaving. I felt like he couldn't handle her, so good bye.
Maybe I'm weird.

Date: 2006-11-30 04:38 am (UTC)Poor Logan hasn't had any chance to be grounded. He could use some maturing, too.
I think that's why she's good friends with Wallace.
I loved the recent plot/theme where Wallace had to (gasp!) study harder. What a concept!

Yes. Everyone who knows me thinks I should be a Buffy fan. I love Joss Whedon's work on Firefly and The Astonishing X-Men but never got into Buffy. I have heard a lot about it, of course. I made a point of watching certain Buffy/Spike sex scenes.
Riley did sound dull to me but (as we have discussed) I'm not big on "normal". I'm more into characters who are extraordinary, heroic and tormented.

Date: 2006-11-30 05:29 am (UTC)for all sorts of deep, meaningful reasonsbecause Buffy didn't have to strain her neck to look at him. She had a lot of sex with Riley too, though. Sex with Spike makes abandoned houses fall down, but sex with Riley raises ghosts!Re: jumping in out of nowhere
Date: 2006-11-30 05:39 am (UTC)LOL. There you have it - all I ever needed to know about Buffy!!

Date: 2006-12-01 01:08 am (UTC)Right. I tend to hear about characters if they are part of slash pairings, or if they are sexy bad boys. Funny how that works.
I don't know that there's anyone who doesn't love him, though. He's made of excellence.
I'll keep that in mind.
