My jeans wore out - the comfy ones I've been wearing all year, as they fade rapidly, but remain comfortable. I was thinking of patching them, but hadn't got around to it, and I'm not sure, looking more closely at them, that it's worth it. Maybe. To time me over the winter with an extra layer of clothing on those really cold days when I still walk to work.

But: good news. I dug a pair of hardly-worn old jeans out of my drawer, jeans that have been two small for me for a couple of years and least, and they fit perfectly. Perfectly! Picture my dance of joy.

I'm sure I have jeans that don't fit in other, deeper drawers. One step at a time!

I had a pair of jeans like that that I refused to throw out... and then they got a hole in the crouch and I started to reason that (would anyone actually notice?) and I realized I definitely needed a new pair if I'm rationalizing a crouch hole, lol.

I was having exactly the same dialogue with myself! I still think I'll make the effort to patch them. But meanwhile, I feel luxurious in the new/old ones.

My favourite jeans have been patched once and are starting to need it again, but I can't bear to get rid of them. They just fit and I look and feel good in them - why can't they last forever??
