Medical matters...
Nov. 22nd, 2006 10:58 amWhen I made an 8 a.m. appointment to see my doctor today, I'd hadn't realized I'd be taking some holidays, with this the first day. So the first day of my holiday I have to fall out of bed early... really early.
Good news: the losartan has brought my blood pressure right down to 114/80. Happy day. Other sort-of good news: I got a flu shot. I'm never sure whether they are really a good idea - I'm about two per cent convinced they work - but I went for it. And then I had to get blood tests. I hate blood tests! But that's because of horrible memories of them taking many vials of blood and never finding a vein and going back and forth between my arms and leaving loonie-sized bruises. That didn't happen today. It was quick, it was easy. Why isn't it always like that?
Then I came home and slept some more. That's the beauty of holidays. There's nothing to say I can't.

Date: 2006-11-22 07:30 pm (UTC)And maybe I will. At least as far as the comic shop, because this is the day the new comics for the week come in. There might even be a new Doctor Who Magazine, though I think that's not quite due yet.

Date: 2006-11-23 12:37 am (UTC)OTOH, I too got the flu shot last week. When I did so in the past (I was living in BC), I noticed that I was much less sick than the previous winter, when I did without.

Date: 2006-11-23 02:35 pm (UTC)Thanks for confirming that taking the flu shot was a good idea. Health is good, and I do recall, last year, being pretty badly sick for a while.

Date: 2006-11-22 05:45 pm (UTC)Yes, vials. Maybe test-tubes. They were testing me for kidney and, um... something else... apparently there are things that might go awry there with losartan so the doctor wanted to check.
telling weird horror stories anbout the blood increasing and increasing in volume and flooding us all.
For some reason that makes me think of River in Firefly. She might tell stories like that.
It was a bright, cold morning and nice to walk in.
