I took this from [livejournal.com profile] kelex but I've been seeing it a lot. The trick is to do only one-word answers. I think other people will be doing it better than I.

1. Yourself?
...purposeful

2. Your boyfriend/girlfriend or husband/wife?
...gone

3. Your hair?
...perfect

4. Your mother?
...missed

Hmm. Was that insightful, or pointless?

Nobody said I couldn't do footnotes!

[1] My dream cars are all from fiction. I said the Torchwood car (affectionately called the Jackmobile by most, for all it has "Torchwood" written all over it), but I could have said the black car Ray drives in Stingray, or one of Lex Luthor's fancy sports cars, or - stretching the definition of a car - the TARDIS.

[2] Said only because I went to see Casion Royale, of course. I saw it with [livejournal.com profile] maaseru, [livejournal.com profile] maaboroshi and Sarah, so that would be a more honest answer. It's also that James Bond is high in my esteem right now, for obvious reasons.

[3] Also known in the U.S. as MI-5. I want to see this.

[4] I bought a new telephone yesterday at Future Shop. Today I programmed it and its answering machine. It felt like an accomplishment.

[5] A few years back the Ottawa Little Theatre mounted a production of this play, which I worked on as crew. The back of the shirt has the royal Plantagenet lion and the name of the play. The front has the old OLT logo.

[6] I could say windy, or foggy, or any number of things, but autumn weather seems to encompass most of the weather I enjoy. Good walking weather.

[7] Because I have to finish editing a story and I'm writing this instead. Back to the story in moments. Really.

[8] If there's a way to say that in one word, I can't think of it. I guess I could have said 'sitting' or 'typing'.

Love your answer to #2 - I should have said that!

I should have said "Kinnie" for favourite drink. Huh.

#9 - yes.

#12 - "Solvent" is good. Me too.

#15 - I almost gave this answer. Almost!

What's medlar jelly?

#29 - why not rant?

Re: 2. However, he'll admit to being somewhere between 45 and 50: intelligent, charming, and with a good body, if somewhat scarred. ;-D

Medlar (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Medlar) jelly is spreadable heaven in a jam-jar. It is truly the jam of the gods. It is especially good on wholemeal toast or on proper muffins. It's up there with rose-petal jam and quince jam (the chunky, non-jelly sort). Apparently, it is appreciated in Piedmont, but then that is a paradisical region for so many reasons!

Re. 29: I'm trying to deploy my arguments coherently in this chapter, and not rant against the writers I hate. Not even Scott and Shelby. I have to behave myself!

Medlar jelly - well, now I know! I never heard of it before. I wonder if I can find it in our stores. Maybe an Italian import shop - I have one just down the street.

Such self-restraint! You are quite right, of course. I think what I would do in your place is rant to my heart's content, and then cut the ranting from the final draft.

British import would do just as well: Wilkin & Sons Ltd Tiptree Medlar Jelly.

I do my rants on LJ and Yahoo!

Yes, LJ and Yahoo! are the proper place for rants.

British food sometimes turns up in our grocery stores, at an extortionate price. I'll do some browsing.
