Nov. 6th, 2006 09:49 amUsually the ads before movies are stupid or annoying or both, but there was one yesterday that was for an item I covet: a 007 laptop.
Now, this is the kind of merchandising I want to see. We all know about the fannish trading cards and action figures and mugs, and I love them with a passion, but I would love to have a Torchwood computer, a TARDIS refrigerator, or a Veronica Mars cell phone. Items that aren't toys.
Well, I can dream, right?

The USB hub particularly sounds like fun. Yes, this is the sort of thing I want!

Date: 2006-11-06 11:32 pm (UTC)I have a notion I went to a Forbidden Planet in Dublin once, too.... With Beulah accompanying me in a besmused fashion. She has visited comic book shops from New Orleans to Ireland in my wake. I can't recall taking her to any in Scotland, though. Just bookstores there. (And she is as eager for bookstores as I am.)

Date: 2006-11-06 07:50 pm (UTC)I do not want a Catherine Tate sound mug, though I rather like the notion of having Cyberman cufflinks. I would quite like a TARDIS cookie jar. This is really all such fun and since I don't want to be acquisite and materialistic I shouldn't have quite so much fun browsing their bizarre material for sale. And some not to bizarre. Replica Serenity props. I swoon!
