What an amazing TV show Battlestar Galactica is. I think I held my breath for an entire hour.

We were gasping over the battle scenes. We never gasp at battle scenes.

And the photography. And the lack of cliche. And the surprises. I could go on. But I don't need to.

I don't think I liked, per se, Ellen Tigh until the end, but I did respect and in some ways admire her. Everything she did was for her husband and I think all along he knew that. Well, other than when she flirted with others just to goad him, but yeah. I felt such pity for her at the end; she'd done what she thought she'd needed to for him, and it had turned out so very badly. I for one want to see what the man does now that he's killed what was likely the love of his life.

Father/daughter relationships are prevalent in literature but for the life of me the only one I can remember is Pride And Prejudice. Never understood why that man married his wife though. ;)

I felt sorry for Ellen Tigh because she had made so many bad choices - she wasn't very smart and she didn't have good judgement but in many ways this made her interesting and tragic. She did love Saul even though she wasn't really good for him. And the real heartbreak was his role - he was so kind to her, in the end, because he saw the full tragedy of it all.

Pride and Prejudice - yes, that's a good father/daughter relationship. Let me know if you think of another one.

She just didn't think very far ahead past her actions; she got Saul out, and she was able to maybe save him by turning over the map, but beyond that she just didn't think. It really is tragic, and I'm interested in seeing just how Saul reacts to it.

Must. Find. That. Ep. *ERG!!!*

Ellen wasn't thinking about the survivial of humankind or of a civilization being destroyed by the Cylons; she was thinking in terms of her husband's welfare, on a different scale entirely. As so it was possible for the Cylons to use her. So sad!

Have you found it yet?

Yeah, downloading it as we speak. Can't say where, but check out my list of comms and it's a pretty easy guess. ;)
