...Now, I have the notion that I don't understand nearly as much of that as I should. Who is Alex Rodriguez? Where is Anguilla? As long as vervassal is a penguin and not The Penguin we should be okay. As I recall from Detective Comics, the Penguin's parties are usually interrupted by gunfire. I do like the inclusion of the Flash, of course. And monsieureden ought to come as her own Eden.

If I were to make a Halloween costume this year, I think I'd want a Doctor Who costume. Or maybe I'd just go as a Torchwood operative. Yeah, I like that. Do my hair like Gwen and get an earpiece.

I like costumes that have some meaning or romance or humour to them. I'm sure there's a way to give meaning and romance and humour to a shelf but I haven't thought of what it is yet.

On "Anguilla" and "Alex Rodriguez"

Anguilla is an island in the Caribbean. A search with Google came up with the following webpage: 'http://www.news.ai/gl//index.php', which holds [recent] news from said island. [Apparently, websites based there have a '.ai' suffix, just as Canadian ones have a '.ca' one.] A search of "Anguilla" in Google maps gave me one showing that the island lies between the Virgin Islands (Br./U.S.) and Antigua/Barbuda Islands, east of and not far from Puerto Rico. [Sadly, the resulting URL is just too long to fit here.]

As for Alex Rodriguez, he's a baseball player, cited by Wikipedia (at 'http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alex_Rodriguez') as having signed the richest [baseball?] player contract in history. Methinks that's just a waste of money ... but then I view all sports players that way. (What a pity the hockey players' strike last year was not extended.)

OTOH, I have no idea who "Milla Jovovich" is, except that she's a celebrity of some kind, but IMDb had more information at: 'http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000170/bio'.

Yes, the Internet is wonderful - except when it isn't!

I agree with you about team sports and sports stars - unless they play European soccer, which I have a weakness for. And there are some Olympic sports I like.

Milla Jovovich was one of the names I recognized - she's an actress, though I haven't actually seen her in anything. I think she was Joan of Arc in one of the recent Joan of Arc movies.
