Writing...

I've been writing most of the evening; got to the 8,327 word mark but still haven't finished the thing. (Just started on the sex scene.) I'm worried about my other story deadline - maybe I can beg for an extension? I never do that. I pride myself on my ability to meet deadlines. Maybe I should call that 'my former ability to meet deadlines'.

And then there's the submission for the apazine, which if I want to do anything at all should be in a state to print tomorrow morning. It's going to take a miracle. Or two.

Why do you count the words, I've never heard before that writers do that. I've made it only while I teached german; my students had to write a story with 60-80 words. I didn't know that serious authors do it. BTW, much luck with your writing I hope you get it the way you wish.

I just do it to know where I am. Publishers usually specify word-length for their needs - it's a habit now, even though I'm not currently writing for publication.

Good for you!!! I can't seem to get myself to start writing, it feels like pulling teeth. *sigh* Been out of the game too long, my brain's gone into freeze mode.
