Your jobs sound like more fun than my jobs.

Which "Prisoner of Zenda"? I've never seen "The Red Shoes". Where is Cupar?

Despite my going on about it, I don't watch much TV either and that was a difficult question to answer honestly. Much as I'm enjoying "Vanished", I like it rather than love it, and "Doctor Who" is the only show currently in production that I love. If I continue watching "Vanished" when "Lost" and "Veronica Mars" come back on... Well, I'll be watching more TV than I have since I was 12 years old! But I probably won't. Or I'll tape stuff and let it pile up for a holiday, or when I'm ill. I often use a TV show as an excuse to visit friends - I watch it with them.

I'd like to be in the places you mention too. Actually I can think of dozens of places I'd like to be...!

Which "Prisoner of Zenda"?

1922, 1937, 1952.

I've never seen "The Red Shoes"

it is wonderful, and (for a 1948 film, amazingly) has an implicitly gay hero, based on Dyagilev, played by a gay actor. See my cinema pages (http://www.silverwhistle.co.uk/cinema).

Cupar is a small town just outside St Andrews. I lived there for 2 and a half years before coming to Glasgow 3 years ago.

I don't really have any friends here to share thing with to the extent of visiting and watching things on TV with. I haven't known that since I was a student.

I only knew about two of them!

Having been lonely for most of my youth, I went to a lot of trouble to find friends I could do things like watch TV with. It doesn't invariably work because of different tastes and scheduling, but I can usually find someone to watch with me - and when in doubt, I hold video parties and invite a small crowd. Sometimes a small crowd even comes.

Rome was so nice. I stayed at a nunnery when I stayed there. My aunt was a nun. :) I've never eaten so well as when I stayed there.

You stayed in your aunt's convent? That is so cool! I stayed in a convent in Assisi, and it was lovely, but I didn't know any of the nuns.

I don't think I've ever seen The Bounty with Anthony Hopkins. I'd like to. I've never been to Bromberg or Warsaw, but I loved Vienna, even though I was sick when I was there and I found it expensive. (But worth it.) I saw five minutes of Desperate Housewives once, but have never seen Malcolm in the Middle - I have trouble watching TV comedy. I envy your visit to Greece - someday I'll get there, I swear! Once upon a time I had a pact with three friends, all of us the same age within a month or two, that we would go to Greece for our 30th birthday. It didn't happen (one of us got cancer and life got complicated) but I still want to go.

Place we'd want to be - I agree, except for the US, and I'm already in Canada. I have a fascination for the Holy Land because of my crusaders; and Tuscany is so incredibly beautiful.

Oh, Greece is beautiful, as well as Italy. The Amalfi Coast is the most beautiful landscape I've ever seen. Pompei, Capri, and the Mont Vesuve...I'm very sorry because of your friend, I hope she is now better.

You would love "Bounty"...believe me. In this little movie play also Mel Gibson, Liam Neeson and Daniel Day-Lewis.

I don't watch TV very much; I only noticed that these both shows are so delightfully bizzare.
