I woke up at five, too congested to sleep and feeling grumpy about it. I read for a bit: The Way of the Wizard by Deepak Chopra, and no wonder I admire that man: he thinks like I do. Not that I'm famous or wise, but the mindset is the same. I use the word 'magician' (thinking of the Tarot, primarily) but the concept is identical.

I'm very happy to have this book. I'm debating whether to get B.K.S. Iyengar's new book that combines "Light on Yoga" with the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, with (I believe) commentary. I already have two copies of "Light on Yoga" - a much-used book in my life, and my earliest edition is so well-used it has loose pages and is held together with a rubber band. I have at least one copy of the "Yoga Sutras", but not Iyengar's translation or commentary. It would be worth $30 to hear what he has to say. Have I talked myself into it? Marcelle was talking about a trip to Chapters at some point today.

I think of Robin Sharma's advice: "Never hesitate to buy a book." Oh, such dangerous words of wisdom!

I fell asleep again and had a dream of self-hate, stress, and pining for the person I love but can't have. Again, it was a dream that took place at a convention: I don't seem to ever dream about work, or any of the things I do in the daytime. I dream about conventions, as if my dreamscape life is one endless fan con. (This may be only too true!) Sad this time, because the con was over and I had to leave. I woke up thinking: "Why do I feel so down? Is this PMS?" and checked the calendar. True enough: spot on for PMS day. Hmmph.

You make me want to dig out _Way of the Wizard_--I read it once a long time ago, and don't remember half of it. I remember liking it, though.

And yes, Robin is right, but there's a path fraught with danger!

I was bad and ordered the extended DVD version of Lawrence of Arabia this morning. Talk about not being able to resist temptation!

Now, I'm tempted by Lawrence of Arabia too. It's on my short list. that is one terrific movie. But there's a pile of things I want to get... most of them coming out in December!

Aww... poor panda! Okay, repeat after me: "It's the PMS. Ignore the bad dreams. It's the PMS. Ignore the bad dreams."

Drink some pau d'arco tea. Think about Lex's smile, the one when he's looking at Clark with his eyelids drooping over those sparkling eyes. And think about Sandman: Endless Nights. Think about daffodils, and roses, and long walks along the canal with a soft breeze in your face. Repeat as needed.

The Iyengar books sounds like a must-do! Can you think of any fairly good reason *not* to go pick it up? That's a great way to say it: "It would be worth $30 to hear what he has to say." Yup. Go with that .

Hope you had a better evening than morning, and will have a nice Sunday. Take care.

Thanks for the good wishes. I love your prescription for feeling better - tea, CLex, and Sandman - yeah, that does it! Yesterday *felt* like a write-off, but when I look back, quite a few things got done that were satisfying in retrospect: my bedroom is clean and tidy - that gives me a great deal of satisfaction - and I read some good slash and some good comics and saw two good episodes of "Buffy" that I'd never seen but wanted to.

And today looks like a beautiful day.
