What a kick!

I just spent an hour (before work) at the fitness centre and I loved it. I mostly spent my time on cycling machines because I could figure out how to use them - but I couldn't figure out how to use the headphones to watch TV while doing it. That's okay.

What I didn't expect was how good I'd feel afterwards. It's an exercise high. This, from the person who always hated exercise.

I plan to go to their yoga class tomorrow - after all, yoga is my thing. I might go to their rowing class tonight - I'm going to decide that when the time comes. I'd like to, but I also want to stay home and work on a story or two.

Maybe I'll go and work out a little at lunchtime.

Maybe I'm getting a little carried away here.

I was just thinking I need to start working out again.

It takes a push, but once you get to it... Nothing else like it in the world.

And no, if you haven't been working out, don't do too much too soon. You'll pay - in ways you never thought possible.

Yes, I must be careful about not overdoing it when I have only 7 days to try everything, or not to try everything too strenuously.

Like so many things - writing a story, for example - it's hard to get started, and then once you start, it's difficult to stop.

I can't really be addicted after only an hour, right?

Um...

::wonders how to respond to this query::

::nods head::

Uh, no. It's not possible. No way. No how. *g*

But small confession - my first-time weight training session happened in high school. A friend and I snuck into the center where the girls hockey team worked out and well, I've been weight training on and off ever since.

Did I mention it's been a few years since high school? *g*

Our conselation: it isn't a bad addiction. We aren't likely to get ourselves arrested or get sick from it. Yeah, it's a good addiction, right?

(they say an addict can justify anything!)

I just discovered the elliptical trainer yesterday. Whoo. Love it.

Elliptical trainer? Oh, those rock!

As for good versus bad addiction... All things in moderation. ;)

::recalls there are exercise/eating disorders::

But we're just going for feel good and healthy - nothing extreme. *g*

Color me inspired.

::breaks out yoga mat::

Thanks for the kick in the tush!

Sometimes moderation is less fun than extremes. On the other hand, I had still muscles in my body yesterday, probably from that elliptical trainer - so, of course, a little more moderation is in order!

Enjoy your yoga! Namaste!

Oh, the extremes can be *awesome* - but only if you'll properly prepped. And sore muscles sort of go with the territory. Bodies generally respond fairly quickly, and the best way to get over the soreness is to work the area a little more gently.

Yoga was yummy. Now, to convince myself to get back to the weights. *g*

Weights. The fitness place I'm had has scary weights. I can't for the life of me figure how to use them. Maybe I should take a class - ? Maybe. It's something to ponder.
