Fickle fortunes...
Jul. 16th, 2006 11:53 amIt should be such a great morning. I am reading a magnificent book, caught up in every word. It's hot but not too hot, not too humid, not raining - downright beautiful. I have the prospect of a writing party this afternoon, which I love. The budgies are singing and all's right with the world. Right?
All would be right with the world if a tooth hadn't broken right in half as I ate my breakfast of apple slices with peanut butter.
How demoralizing. Now I have to go to the dentist. I hate it when that happens.
Otherwise, it's a great morning.

Date: 2006-07-16 05:14 pm (UTC)You may remember that I've complained a bit about not being able to read (due to lack of concentration). As it happens, I read Lois McMaster Bujold's Spirit Ring in about 2 days during the hollidays. So maybe I just need a more gripping book (wich is not exactly the same as a better book) and different surroundings. I will keep this triology in mind and see if I can find it. (new book are unfortunately too expensive)

Date: 2006-07-17 01:19 pm (UTC)And though I loved them all, I find that I've liked each book more than the previous one. In "The Thief" for example, I wasn't too fond of the myth-stories of the gods - we get fewer of those in the next books.
And I like the way Gen matures.

Date: 2006-07-16 04:30 pm (UTC)I will say, that in my experience, major repairs are more expensive and inconvenient for a longer time until completion, but mostly, they have held up considerably longer than minor repairs.
Good luck.

Date: 2006-07-16 05:34 pm (UTC)I need a Ten icon and dammit, that's mean dropping one of my current ones. I fear Ioan may get the chop...
Any good sites for Ten icons? You've had some extremely spiffy ones lately!

Date: 2006-07-16 11:54 pm (UTC)If Ioan gets the chop, I hope it's only temporary! I keep changing my icons - there are so many Doctor Who icons I love - I love the one I was using last week (Ten with 3-D classes) that I may go back to it.
I haven't been using just one site for my DW icons - in fact, I've been wasting entirely too much time browsing icon sites. Got a good number of them from

Date: 2006-07-16 11:55 pm (UTC)No, but I'll call first thing in the morning. Luckily it's more annoying than painful, so far. Though admittedly distressing. I am living on soups.
