I came across a Doctor Who Friending Meme by martoufmarty. What a great idea, I said to myself....



Name: fajrdrako for LJ and online fic, otherwise Elizabeth.

Location: Ottawa, Canada.

Favourite Doctor: Nine.

Favourite Villain: The nanogenes/gas-mask people in The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances, if I can call them a villain. If not, I love Mr. Finch from School Reunion, and the Dalek cadre in Doomsday - Dalek Seg and his cohorts. I like the look of the Cybermen, very art deco. I also liked the clockwork creatures in The Girl in the Fireplace.

Favourite Companion: Captain Jack Harkness.

Favourite Story/Episode: The aforementioned The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances.

Fan of new series, old series, both? The new series.

Do you make contributions to fandom? (fan fic, icons, music vids, etc etc): I write stories. I haven't written any Doctor Who stories. Yet.

Do you collect Doctor Who memorabilia? (If so, what do you have?): I couldn't stop myself. I bought the Doctor Who 2006 calendar, a Doctor Who mug showing Rose and the Doctor, a book about the show, a poster, and several magazines. I am trying to convince myself I do not need action figures.

Other Fandoms? Many. I've written stories in Horatio Hornblower, Pirates of the Caribbean, The Professionals, Smallville, X-Files, X-Men, and assorted others.

Anything else we should know about you? Are you the Dalek emperor? No, he's dead, Rose killed him.



The question brings to mind the Doctor Who Tarot deck of my imagination. I was thinking about it because I like to cast the Doctor as The Magician when characterizing him or looking for his mythic meanings. Rose is either the Fool (i.e., the Self, or the viewpoint character) or she is the Empress - I think her role as the Fool is more important. Hmmm.... who else?

Do you have any better ideas about who should be in the various cards? I have a rationale for each of them - which I'd be happy to explain but I'm sure it would bore you to death. Some of them are pretty weak.

Jaysus! Way to creep me out! I came SO CLOSE to linking to the Magician and the Fool cards when you said the Doctor reminded you of a Magician the other day. I had the links copied before I was like, "Nah, that might be too weird." *grin*
