I wish I could write short, clever things like this.

I love all of those '___ in a minute.'

So do I. The concept is terrific. Some are wonderful, others fall flat. I love the good ones that really get the point of the story across.

PS, I'm emailing my niece. She and my nephew liked PotC 2 better, LOL. I feel outnumbered. ;) Then again, they are kiddies and probably could care less about the writing.

PPS, the receptionist is leaving. :(

You thought the writing wasn't as good in PotC2? I thought it was about the same, though it might have been cut a little more to be snappier. It lacked the element of suprise that the first movie had, but it could capitalize on familiarity for humour and surprise.

There were few new jokes in the writing, mostly rehashing the old ones. I thought the first movie was pretty witty and laughed a lot; not so much here. I assume it was the writing but I suppose it could be the acting.

But I also include the score when I say writing, and I wanted more original music! Only the Davy Jones theme was new, bah! I just loved the original music and wanted some more.

I'm not sure why I found it funnier. Perhaps I just liked the familiarity.

Probably. I was more originality than familiarity. That might pass once I see it a few times and my expectations change.

Leaving? You mean as in, going home at 4 p.m.? Or do you mean, quitting her job?

You liked it enough to see it again?

From: [identity profile] monsieureden.livejournal.com
Yes. Just not eight more times in the theatre, as I felt with the first one. :)

LOL, her job. She got a full time position in another city. She broke the news to me first because she knew I would be most upset. :p

PPS, did you see this? (http://community.livejournal.com/ohnotheydidnt/7575385.html) lol.

Aww. When is she going? Did she get another job?

Well, I'm going to see it again on Saturday. I don't know how many times I'll see it altogether - I think I was excessive about the first movie, and I've no idea now how many times I saw it in the theatre. (More than eight, I think.)

I couldn't afford more than eight... The theatre is super expensive.

She leaves in a few weeks. She got a full time job, yes, at the library at the University of Michigan.

Well, that's good for her. She doesn't have to move away or anything, does she? She'll still be in the same city. You just won't get to work with her.

Tell me about. Another reason I have no money. I spent it all on excess entertainment passions.

True, but she lives pretty far from me (remember my angsting about driving out to her place?). Work was a convenient compromise.

She said we'd keep in touch. I hope we do! It's very good for her.

I'm sure you will see her, but even so, you'll miss her at work.
