Doctor Who: Fear Her...
Jun. 26th, 2006 09:48 pmI'm at that stage of discovery of a new fandom, where each episode seems better than the last and every time I watch one I've already seen it looks better.
And I am feeling very acutely aware that there are only two new episodes of Doctor Who left this season.
I got home from work in a state of hot exhaustion, fell onto my leather couch, and watched Fear Her. Loved it. Is it just me, or are the episodes becoming increasingly emotionally involving? Wittier, smarter, deeper?
Must be just me, besotted.
Funny thing: I was thinking yesterday, before I saw Fear Her, that the trailer for it somehow reminded me of the X-Files episode Paper Hearts. I haven't thought of that episode or seen it, in years - though I know it was one I liked. Then this afternoon Thomas phoned me. "I have a question for you," he said. "Do you remember the X-Files episode Paper Hearts?"
I wonder if Thomas is psychic.

Date: 2006-06-27 05:07 am (UTC)Now, man, he is just sooooo much my doctor... and the episodes are soo much more to my taste than the 2005 ones which seemed to be too... heavy for the doctor, if that makes sense. I will be waiting impatiently for the next series!

Date: 2006-06-27 10:57 am (UTC)And the season two stories are so good - !
There are certainly things I loved about the Eccleston episodes, including the fact that the stories were heavier - that's as good a word as any. And there are just as many things I love about the Tennant episodes. It's all good!

Date: 2006-06-27 11:01 am (UTC)I just wish they would show Doctor Who in Canada! Yeah, they will... in October. Meanwhile we're getting reruns of the 2005 series, which is okay.
Doctor-Who-bonding is the best kind!
